The 5-axis simultaneous control method allows the tool to reach angled surfaces and undercuts, fabricating a wide range of prosthetics in-house — crowns, inlays, and veneers, as well as bridges, custom implant abutments, and bruxism/TMJ appliances. Because it’s a wet milling process that sprays coolant while cutting, heat doesn’t build up in zirconia or glass ceramic, reducing micro-cracks and producing a smooth, well-finished margin between tooth and prosthetic.

With the VITA Easyshade® V, we quantify your tooth shade before and after whitening using the same standard for comparison. You can confirm “how many shades brighter” with data rather than a guess, helping you reasonably decide whether further whitening is needed.

Q. Can you make a same-day temporary crown or splint in-house?
Seongmo Dental Clinic uses data captured by the Primescan 3D scanner to immediately fabricate temporary crowns, TMJ splints, ARS appliances, and surgical guides on our in-house 3D printer. We complete them quickly, without outsourcing to an external lab.
Q. What does it mean that the doctor personally designs the prosthetic?
Seongmo Dental Clinic keeps a 5-axis wet milling machine in-house, with the treating doctor personally designing, machining, and seating the prosthetic. Without the step of describing the desired shape to an outside lab through words and models, it is made as intended, and if adjustment is needed after a try-in, it can be remilled and adjusted on the spot.
Q. How is a 5-axis milling machine different from a 3-axis or 4-axis machine?
3-axis and 4-axis units have limited tool-approach directions, making angled surfaces or undercuts difficult to mill. A 5-axis unit tilts the material in multiple directions while cutting, so it can fabricate complex shapes such as custom implant abutments, prosthetics with angled screw holes, and bridges connecting several teeth. Seongmo Dental Clinic adds wet machining with coolant on top of this, reducing heat damage and micro-cracks.
Q. What equipment do you use for in-house 3D printing?
We operate the Phrozen Sonic CS+ dental LCD photopolymer 3D printer together with the dedicated Cure+ post-curing unit. Using dental resin, we print temporary crowns, TMJ splints, custom denture impression trays, implant surgical guides, and diagnostic models, completing washing and post-curing entirely in-house.
