The i-JECT B is a digital precision-dose Botox injector from MediHub that automatically delivers Botox in 0.05cc/0.1cc increments to reduce injection pain.

In a conventional Botox injection, the clinician manually pushes the syringe plunger, so the volume and pressure delivered depend on the practitioner's hand feel. The i-JECT B is a digitally-controlled automatic injector, and its precise, automated dosing is what reduces procedural pain.

What is LDS (Low Dead Space)?

LDS refers to a design that minimizes the residual drug space (dead space) between the syringe and needle. It is engineered to reduce the amount of costly Botox wasted inside the syringe, allowing the same dose to be used precisely and without loss.

In short, the i-JECT B is a device that digitally controls exactly how much, how slowly, and at what pressure Botox is delivered.

Q. Is separate anesthesia used for the Botox injection?

Masseter Botox is generally performed without separate local anesthesia. The i-JECT B injects the drug slowly at a constant pressure to reduce the pain of the injection itself, and topical anesthesia can be added if needed.

Q. Does i-JECT B really hurt less?

Pain sensitivity varies by person, but because the device controls the pressure fluctuation that normally occurs with a hand-held injection, it is reported to help reduce pain variability. Rather than "painless," think of it as a device designed to lower pain.

Q. I'm worried square-jaw Botox will come out asymmetrical.

Asymmetry usually results from a difference in the amount injected on each side. Because the i-JECT B automatically injects the same dose on both sides in 0.05cc/0.1cc increments, it can help lower the chance of asymmetry caused by dose variance.

Q. I came in for bruxism — will my jawline slim down too?

If the masseter was enlarged from bruxism, reduced muscle activity from Botox is reported to bring a slimmer look as volume decreases. That said, the main treatment goal is reducing the tooth wear and jaw strain caused by bruxism.

Q. How long does the effect last?

Botox effect is generally known to last for a period before muscle function gradually returns; the duration varies with individual muscle condition and dose. The exact time for re-treatment is decided through consultation as we monitor your progress.

Q. Besides Botox, are there other bruxism treatments at this clinic?

Bruxism treatment depends on the cause. If occlusal imbalance is the cause, we first perform occlusal adjustment after T-scan digital bite analysis; if it's structural, a custom night-guard splint made in-house with our 3D printer is suitable. Botox is chosen when muscle overactivity is clearly the cause.
